Settlement Summary

Realogy Holdings Corp., the parent company of Coldwell Banker, has agreed to a $20 million settlement in a class action lawsuit alleging violations of the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). The claims center around unsolicited telemarketing calls made by Coldwell Banker-affiliated real estate agents to individuals whose numbers were registered on the National Do Not Call Registry. The lawsuit also involves individuals who received automated or prerecorded messages from these agents between June 11, 2015, and December 3, 2020. While Realogy has not admitted to any wrongdoing, the settlement serves as a significant reminder to other companies about the importance of adhering to federal regulations when it comes to consumer contact.
