The plaintiffs assert that while Quick Box offered customers a free trial of La Pura products, requiring only the payment of shipping and handling, consumers were later billed for subscriptions they did not sign up for. This billing occurred using the credit card or bank account details provided by customers for the supposed shipping fees. Although Quick Box has not admitted any wrongdoing, the company has agreed to the multi-million dollar payout to resolve the false advertising lawsuit. The settlement benefits include consumers who were billed for La Pura products from June 20, 2016, through September 9, 2024. Consumers involved in this lawsuit can receive a cash payment based on the number of La Pura products they bought; the exact payment will vary depending on the total number of eligible claims. Any remaining funds from the settlement after all payments have been distributed will be donated to the National Consumer Law Center, reinforcing the importance of consumer rights and protections.
