The lawsuit claimed that these defects, which reportedly caused shaking on bumpy roads at high speeds, led to financial injury for consumers who had to pay for repairs. While FCA did not admit any wrongdoing, they agreed to settle the lawsuit for an undisclosed sum, marking a significant resolution in the auto industry's ongoing battles with safety and quality control. The terms of the settlement provide significant benefits for the affected Jeep owners and lessees. An extended warranty of up to eight years or 90,000 miles will cover repairs associated with a failed front suspension steering damper. Additionally, reimbursements are available for those who previously paid out of pocket for these repairs.
