Settlement Summary
CVS, a renowned pharmaceutical chain, has agreed to pay a $1M settlement following a class action lawsuit over claims that it sold recalled eye drops produced in unsanitary conditions. Specifically, the eye drops were part of CVS's own brand and were manufactured in India. The allegations led to a wider $1.5M settlement with the manufacturer, who was also accused of selling contaminated goods. The issue at hand extends from October 1, 2021, to October 25, 2023, and anyone within the US who purchased the mentioned CVS-branded eye drops during this period may be eligible for a payout. It should be noted this lawsuit is unrelated to a similar class action settlement over Similasan-branded eye drops, which were allegedly falsely advertised as "homeopathic". Depending on whether proof of purchase is provided, claimants could receive a cash award equivalent to the amount paid for the product or a pro-rata cash payment for up to three purchases. The claim form deadline is set for July 11, 2025.
